BSAS Conference 2021

April 12 - April 14

BSAS Conference 2021

Agri-EPI Centre warmly invites our technology, industry and academia partners to join us at the first ever virtual BSAS conference on the 12th – 15th April 2021 with a fitting title: ‘The Challenge of Change – The New Normal?’

New BSAS conference format

BSAS (British Society of Animal Science) is the innovator and connector of animal science research and information, working with partners to ensure links from academia to application. The BSAS 2021 conference is a most opportune manner to both support BSAS as an organisation, as well as to share latest research and hear from emerging and imminent scientists and practitioners working in animal science and related topics.

In a first ever for the Society, the conference is taking place entirely online, enabling delegates to attend from around the world at their convenience and gives those wishing to submit, additional flexibility, creativity, and innovation in a digital space. There is an outstanding online programme of events and engaging workshops where the latest research will be presented to key figures within the global animal science community.

BSAS Conference Programme

We’re delighted to be joining the BSAS Conference 2021 to prevent perspectives on the role of new technologies in sustainable agri-food systems. Our Head of Dairy, Duncan Forbes, will be speaking about the latest innovations being trialled at the South West Dairy Development Centre, while Agricultural Project Manager Naomi Smitten will talk about TailTech, an agri-tech solution to pig tail-biting, as part of a panel discussion.

On day two, one of our Agri-Tech Centre ‘sisters’ CIEL (Centre for Innovation And Excellence in Livestock will host an industry-led session highlighting the challenges around sustainable production for the livestock sector, together with considering the approaches and innovations that could monitor progress, offer solutions and engage with consumers.
