This event will be of interest to farmers, technologists and those in the ag advisory space, to hear more about Rob & Jo Hodgkinson’s business and their transition to a regenerative farming system that supports the profitability of the farm-business.
‘Kaiapoi’ is Maori meaning ‘food over water’. We have imported Romney Rams from New Zealand to create the ultimate outdoor lambing ewe for the UK climate.
Rob and Jo Hodgkins set up Kaiapoi in 2013 with 200 ewes on 60 rented acres of grass. They have driven the business forward hard and now run 2250 ewes across 1000ac semi improved grassland and solar panels and farm 1600ac of arable crops around North Hertfordshire.
Rob and Jo met through the Nuffield Farming Scholarship programme and have both since graduated from the WCF Advanced Business Management Course. Both have worked off farm in professional careers and are strong believers in continued professional development to keep driving forwards.
Rob and Jo have recently appointed Monty White as Arable Manager, James White as Flock Manager, Sam Davies as a Skilled Arable Operator and Holly Grant as Shepherd.
