
The Post-Harvest Section of European Association for Potato Research (EAPR), supported by AHDB and Certis, invites Agri-EPI Members and associates to join them at their next Section meeting, which takes place in Norwich on 12-14 March 2019.
The aim of the meeting is to present the latest scientific progress in all fields of post-harvest research and development. In particular, they aim to provide an outstanding opportunity for dialogue and networking between delegates, industry stakeholders and scientists.
With emphasis on the future of long-term storage and the likely absence of CIPC, attendees will have the opportunity to hear a leading UK industry representative who will outline the current issues for potatoes post-harvest.
A special session exploring the regulatory, strategic and possible technical solutions – both chemical and non-chemical will also discuss the challenges faced around the uncertainty around the loss of CIPC.
Conference topics will include:
- Store design and management: these form part of the solution to long-term storage and we will explore best practices and novel solutions.
- The ever-changing landscape of disease development during storage is always a threat and there will presentations devoted to the diseases and their control.
- Ultimately, the quality of potato for the desired market is paramount and the drivers of quality change and methods for quality assessment will provide the focus for this topic area.
