Agri-EPI and fellow agri-tech innovation centre, Agrimetrics, are taking part in a webinar with Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) and the European Horizon 2020 Astropreneurs Space Startup Accelerator, which seeks to turn space-related ideas into viable businesses.
The webinar, which will take place at 10am on Tuesday 19 May, and is aimed at SMEs and start up companies, will focus on the role that space technology can play in sustainable agriculture.
Agri-EPI Centre’s Projects and Technical Manager, Freddie Reed, will be presenting on satellite imagery and its current use at our network of farms. He will be followed by Agrimetrics’ Chief Product Officer, Matthew Smith, who will discuss the commercialisation of space data through the data marketplace. The Innovation Manager at the Science and Technology Facilities Council and UK Manager for the Astropreneurs programme, Nick Trigg, will then give a rundown on the space data that is available, and how it can be accessed.
