Innovation Barn

The Innovation Barn is a dedicated incubation space for pre-trading and start-up Agri-Tech / Agri-food businesses. Located at the Midlands Hub, it allows entrepreneurs to be a part of the wider Agri-EPI thriving innovation ecosystem of members and tenants. 

The Innovation Barn provides a structured environment for inspiration and collaboration, where users can access:

– Hot-desks and break out areas

– Ad-hoc meeting pods

– Internet access 

– Meeting rooms for formal discussions and ideation sessions 

– Networking opportunities 


Agri-EPI in Partnership with Harper Adams University are running a start-up support project titled Sustaining Shropshire. This project is dedicated to providing free expert support to Shropshire’s agri-tech and agri-food and drink sectors to develop pioneering new ideas and boost sustainability. 

Alongside the start-up support, Agri-EPI is offering agri-tech and agri-food businesses one to one support to grow their business, relevant to entrepreneurs looking to take their already established company, product or service to the next level.

South West Dairy Development Centre

Agri-EPI’s state-of-the-art South West Development Centre presents a fresh vision for the UK dairy industry. The resource offers a truly innovative environment for developing, testing and demonstrating new technologies and techniques to support sustainable, efficient, high health and welfare, cost-efficient milk production.

Crop Technology Innovation Hub

Cranfield University houses Agri-EPI’s Crop Technology Hub. Rent offices and practical technology business incubator workshop spaces, access precision technology and agricultural equipment as well as real-time commercial farm testbeds.

Marine Aquaculture Centre

Located at Loch Fyne on Scotland’s Argyll coast, our Marine Aquaculture Innovation Centre (MAIC) is in partnership with an independent aquaculture company, Otter Ferry Seafish (OFS), jointly funded by Innovate UK.

The centre offers fully serviced research and development facilities to aquaculture producers and technology providers with a focus on improving aquaculture sustainability.
