What is available?

A share of £2 million from the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund is available, with a maximum of £400,000 per application for UK partners up for grabs. The NRC IRAP will contribute a maximum of $700,000 CAD, which should be shared between all Canadian partners involved in the project.

What projects will be considered?

Funding is available to support those projects that are focussed on enhancing the productivity and sustainability of livestock, aquaculture and crops systems. Projects must last between 24 and 29 months starting 1 Nov 2020


To be considered for the funding, all companies must be eligible to apply for state aid at the time of confirmation of the reward.

Businesses that are working alone will not be considered. The project consortium must contain at least:

  • one UK registered business of any size and
  • one registered Canadian SME (500 or fewer employees).

Please note that academic institutions and research and technology organisations can take part in the project, however, will not receive funding.
